Italy-Cuba Friendship Association condemns U.S. aggression against Venezuela

The Italy-Cuba National Friendship Association expressed its support for the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in the face of the attacks perpetrated by the Government of the United States (USA), intensified after the elections of July 28, in which President Nicolás Maduro was re-elected.

In a statement, the Association denounced that “we are facing a tremendous imperialist offensive led by the United States that hits the entire American continent, dusting off political-military coups to prevent the emancipation of Latin American peoples.”

In this regard, he gave as an example the consolidated coup d'etat in Peru and they warned of “the risks faced by the progressive governments of Colombia and Honduras”, countries in which the White House also intends to execute plans to overthrow presidents Gustavo Petro and Xiomara Castro, respectively.

In the document, he warns that “one of the main fronts of imperial attack is against the Bolivarian Revolution in Venezuela”, in addition to the brutal blockade against Cuba.

It highlights that Venezuela is the victim of a large number of unilateral coercive measures and is subject “to a perverse media attack aimed at delegitimizing the electoral results, even before they were known.”

The Italo-Cuban association “strongly condemns this new aggression against a sovereign and independent country, which has freely chosen its own system of government and that should not be held accountable to anyone, nor for that reason suffer military or computer attacks.”

“The fascist danger is present everywhere and the Venezuelan comrades were right to launch the international anti-fascist event of the last few days, in which we had the honor of participating,” he said, referring to the World Congress against Fascism, Neofascism and other similar expressions, held in Caracas on September 10 and 11.

He stated “the Italy-Cuba National Friendship Association that is and will always be against imperialism and fascist revivals. Internationalist and anti-fascist solidarity with the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, the Republic of Cuba and all anti-imperialist and anti-capitalist movements .”
