The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) issued an urgent alert warning that Typhoon Jangmi will make landfall within the next 24 hours. The meteorological phenomenon is progressing with extreme force, registering sustained winds of 126 kilometers per hour and destructive gusts that promise to reach 162 kilometers per hour, which has immediately mobilized emergency forces.

Official projections indicate that the islands of Okinawa and Amami will be the first areas to receive the direct impact of the system, with accumulations of rainfall expected that could easily exceed 250 millimeters of water. Faced with this high-risk flood scenario, the competent authorities have ordered the preventive evacuation of the civilian population and the immediate cancellation of all commercial flights in that region to safeguard lives.

The mass evacuation operation will focus as a matter of priority on Okinawa and its surrounding areas, while specialists keep an uninterrupted surveillance of the behavior of the phenomenon.

The main concern of meteorologists lies in a possible change in the typhoon's trajectory, which shows signs of advancing and approaching the main island of Japan dangerously over the next two days.

The JMA warned that the dimensions of this climate event could have collateral repercussions in other urban areas of the country. However, the emergency committees pointed out that the level of impact in the rest of the prefectures will depend strictly on the evolution of their course, so they urge citizens to stay safe and follow institutional communication channels.
