The Venezuelan Jeshuath Pedraza won gold in Kyorugui of -68 kilos at the Santo Domingo 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games.
Pedraza won the gold medal by beating Colombian Jhon Garrido 2-0 in the decisive match.
In the debut, the Venezuelan beat Puerto Rican Luis De Jesús 2-0 with a score of 16-0 in the first round and 19-4 in the second with a cumulative of two kicks to the body, plus an additional fifteen of 2 points in addition to a penalty and a kick to the head.
Pedraza found himself in the semifinal match against Dominican Wander González, who he beat 2-1, after tying 2-2 in the first round, giving up 11-2 in the second in which he received two penalties and recovering 8-7 in the third to take the victory.
The outcome against Garrido ended with a 2-0 victory for Pedraza, dominating 9-7 and an overwhelming 22-7 superiority in the second round, the product of 11 two-point kicks.
For her part, Hilary Clemente dominated 2-0 (5-0 and 6-1) the 6-7 bronze match against Salvadoran Jennifer Roldán.
