The seventh stage of the 61st edition of the Vuelta al Táchira by Bicicleta 2026, held this January 15 between Táriba and San Cristóbal on a route of about 151 km, offered an exciting day marked by escape and a contested outcome that had such an impact on the overall classification of the race.
The Venezuelan Jesús Goyo, representative of the Fina Arroz CES Multimarcas Bancamiga team, was the main protagonist of the day. Taking advantage of the escape, Goyo launched a decisive attack in the final kilometers and knew how to impose his pace to reach the finish line alone, thus achieving stage victory with an impeccable performance. His triumph was the result of a constant effort on the run and an intelligent reading of the race, marking a highlight for him and his team.
Behind Goyo, Colombian Camilo Gómez (GW Erco SportFitness) crossed the finish line in second position and in third place was Alexander Villasmil (Government of Mérida).
The 8th stage of the Vuelta al Táchira 2026 is scheduled for January 16, 2026. On this day, cyclists will travel the stretch between Abejales and the Monument to the Christ the King (Cerro El Cristo) —also reported as Capacho in some official results— over a distance of approximately 150 km.
