Venezuela is a leader in the application of regenerative treatments using stem cells in the region, as confirmed by the Minister of Popular Power for Science and Technology, Gabriela Jiménez.

During a new episode of Con Ciencia +Vida, El Podcast, Jiménez described Venezuela as a leading country in the “application of regenerative treatments for congenital pseudarthrosis, skin burns, ulcers, periodontal disease and corneal regeneration, as well as regeneration of knee cartilage bones.”

He reported that Venezuelan experts have published research on the progress of creating a small mini-organ that consists of producing blood cells on an experimental scale.

“This represents a major breakthrough for the development of multiple protocols and technologies that will be available to patients around the world,” he said.

He said that this is part of the policies promoted by the National Government for the scientific development of the country.
