This Friday, the First National Meeting of Production and Learning Units culminated at the National University of the Communes (UNACOM), in Carabobo.
The rector of the institution, Jorge Arreaza, toured an exhibition of the products designed by the Communes and asserted that the Community Production and Learning Units (UPAC) are strongly activated.
“The students who go to the PNF and those who are going to join the UPAC have a commitment to the people. The important thing is that we are clear about the effort we must make to transform the Venezuelan economy,” said the Rector.
He explained that just as private and public property exist, there must also be a system of collective ownership in different forms.” Then we have social property, our direct and communal social property companies,” he stressed, while recalling that Unacom's mantra is to produce science, technology and dignity.
Arreaza said that the university is precisely so that the Communes can produce their own food, textiles and processes that are integral to life, in order to achieve true independence and to be able to live with dignity. “Where the Commune works, people are happier,” he added.
Likewise, the vice-rector for Community Economy, Hernán Vargas, reported that this first meeting formally activates 143 UPAC throughout the country.
He said that this day confirms that Unacom's main objective is to produce food, science and dignity, among other economic and training activities.
The communal as a symbol of quality
Regarding the approach to the topic of Communication and Digital Tools for the Community Economy, Professor Luisángela Alvarado, stated earlier that everything in life communicates, “but when it is done from a conscious state, we begin to give a deep value to our work. “We make visible the invisible, the production units, for example.”
He stressed that the Communes need to publicize the products they produce through digital tools and social networks. And he explained that each state must adapt to the characteristics of the entity. By not reporting on what is being done in the Commune, no one will know what is being developed, what is happening, he added.
“It's not selling a product for the sake of selling it, I'm producing to guarantee life in the territory, what my territory needs; and there we moved away from marketing. We are creating for our community. We are not selling a product, we are selling and producing science, food, knowledge for the sovereignty of our country,” he said, while stating that “the communal is not a chimbo”, so it is important to show the products with quality images, planning what is going to be published, selecting the color palette, among other characteristics.
Another exhibition served to confirm that cell phones are tools that, when properly used, become the main ally in positioning the communal economy. Through social networks, we must promote products made in communities. This includes creating a brand, having a logo that identifies the product and the Commune.
Experiences and advances
Some community spokespersons, such as Lizeth Vargas (Lara state), showed their experiences with the publication of what they produce, such as handicrafts, food, clothing, among other essential products for the well-being of the Community Circuits. In addition, he proposed that within each Commune there should be 10 social production companies.
Likewise, the participants worked in six working groups to define strategies that promote the communal productive economy, showing the advances of the UPACs, the analysis of cost, budget and financial support for producers by the Commune.
They agreed that it is essential to move towards an organic production system; they discussed animal husbandry, genetics, distribution and consumption, food processing and the need to promote independent marketing, recycling, repair, creation of funds to solve some contingency and adaptation with a sense of belonging, identity and work.
