This Thursday, the former vice-president of Ecuador, Jorge Glas, reported that he has been mistreated by the police forces of the Government of Daniel Noboa.
“They threw me against the wall, I hit my head, they kicked and kneeled my hips, they stepped on my neck,” Glas said at the habeas corpus hearing via telematics from La Roca maximum-security prison.
In this regard, he explained that he has received blows to the ribs and his thumbs were dislocated, while stating that he is on hunger strike.
The former vice-president, who is currently on hunger strike, mentioned that his ribs were kicked and his thumbs dislocated.
“Sooner rather than later, justice will be done,” he said.
It should be noted that last Friday, Ecuadorian police forces raided the Embassy of the Aztec country to take into custody the former Ecuadorian vice-president, Jorge Glas, who that day had received political asylum from Mexico.
The situation provoked a protest from the Mexican Government, which broke diplomatic relations with Ecuador and withdrew all its diplomatic personnel in that country.
