The head of the VEN25+ Campaign Command, Jorge Rodríguez, highlighted this Monday the consolidation of unity within the Simón Bolívar Great Patriotic Pole (GPPSB) ahead of the municipal elections scheduled for July 27, while rejecting attempts by extremist sectors to generate anxiety in the country.
“We are seeing concrete expressions of strength, cohesion and projection towards the future. The unity of the GPPSB is not only solid, but it is also oriented towards building prosperity for the Venezuelan people,” Rodríguez said during a press conference.
With regard to recent statements by far-right spokespersons, he described as “delusional” the intentions of those who seek to sow violence or disinformation on the political stage. “We are not going to waste this press conference talking about people who all they want is for us to talk about them. These delusions are absolutely out of the country's political reality,” he said.
Rodríguez assured that attempts to destabilize the climate of peace have failed decisively. “Those who thought to sow chaos after the elections of July 28 last year are now nothing more than cosmic dust. The People demonstrated that they know how to defend their country and their right to tranquility,” he said.
He called for maintaining the focus on the advances of the revolutionary process and on respect for the collective desire for stability. “Nobody, not even from the opposition, wants to return to scenes of violence. Let's leave delusions to those who suffer from them; Venezuela is committed to peace,” he said.
