From the state of Anzoátegui, during the Popular Consultation for the Partial Reform of the Hydrocarbons Law, the president of the National Assembly (AN) Jorge Rodríguez praised the operational resilience achieved by the hydrocarbons sector.

Rodríguez highlighted the work of the workers who did not let the oil industry lose. “Venezuela, despite the blockade that prevented the production, exploitation and export of our oil, our gas, our hydrocarbons, and yet we can say that we have an oil industry that is still standing,” he said.

He also recalled that the country has resisted one of the most aggressive sieges. “Venezuela has experienced and is experiencing one of the most brutal blockades that, through more than 900 sanctions, tried to bring our industry to its knees,” he said.

The president of the AN stressed that despite restrictions that sought to prevent the commercialization of crude oil and gas, the country closed December 2025 with a production of 1.2 million barrels per day. This figure contrasts sharply with the years 2019, 2020 and 2021, when the blockade plunged extraction to critical lows.

“We have to get oil out of the ground and turn it into goods, into prosperity, into the full life that Venezuelans deserve,” he emphasized and stressed that the objective of the new legislation is to transform the wealth of the subsoil into tangible benefits for the population.

Rodríguez, assured that this process will be carried out under strict protection of the Constitution and national sovereignty, ensuring that the energy development of 2026 will be the definitive engine of Venezuela's economic independence.
