The president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, urged the opposition deputies who were sworn in this Monday for the 2026-2031 legislative period, to maintain the height of dialogue and respect within the discussions within the parliament.

“I'm not going to accept shows in this National Assembly. The shows in the cirques and theaters, this venue is respected. Just as I will not allow the shouting of slogans and disrespect for opposition deputies, count on the respect and decency of this directive and of the Bancada de la Patria. If at any time you feel that these words that I am committing to are not being fulfilled, do not hesitate to send it to me and we will immediately take the corrective measures,” Rodríguez emphasized.

In this regard, the highest authority of the Legislative Branch emphasized the call for dialogue with all the political factors that make life in the country. “Calling them to exchange and dialogue is not a sign of weakness, it's a sign of greatness. Let us disregard the opportunity to build political, economic, social and human proposals together. Let's not miss the opportunity that, no matter how different we are, we can meet for the days to come, more united, that is, stronger,” he stressed.

He also stressed that the Venezuelan people want to be part of that debate that must take place to achieve agreements on fundamental elements of the life of the Republic.
