The president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, during the installation of the new legislative term, affirmed that the Parliament is committed to deepening its link with the Venezuelan people.

“We are committed to seeking more for our people, to identify with their pain, with their expectation, with their hope. We are committed to keeping our mouths shut to hear them more, to hear the mother's cry, but also to the smile of our girls and boys, the cry of our workers, and to know what our youth think,” said Rodríguez.

Rodríguez acknowledged that, in the exercise of legislative functions, mistakes may have been made and apologized for this. “Surely we have failed in aspects where we should not have failed, but we are committed to being aware of our mistakes and to correcting the course as necessary,” he said.

Rodríguez stressed that new generations mark the future of the country and that parliamentarians must adapt to their codes and forms of communication. “The future belongs to them, the future is no longer ours,” he said.

Finally, he evoked historical phrases of struggle and unity, guaranteeing that the commitment of the National Assembly is to remain at the side of the People at all stages of history. “United we will win!” , concluded.
