The president of the National Assembly and designated for the Peace Dialogues for Venezuela, Jorge Rodríguez, announced this Thursday that the Bolivarian Government contacts the best law firms in the United States (USA) to defend Venezuelan migrants who are criminalized in the North American country.

“We are contacting the best migration firms in the United States of America to represent the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and to represent each and every one of the Venezuelan migrants,” Rodríguez said from the Miraflores Palace.

After participating in a meeting between President Nicolás Maduro and the families of Venezuelans kidnapped in a maximum-security prison in El Salvador, Rodríguez reiterated that “migrating is not a crime, and these boys did not commit any type of crime either in the United States of America and much less in El Salvador who did not know him until they were kidnapped.”

He stressed that the actions taken by the governments of Donald Trump and Nayib Bukele are violating the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Charter of the United Nations, the Universal Declaration of the Rights of the Child and all existing conventions on migration and on the work of migrants.
