The president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, described as “a vulgar robbery” the auction executed by a United States court to finalize the CITGO auction without allowing Veenzuela to defend himself in this case.

During the debate held in the Venezuelan Parliament over this fact, Rodríguez denounced that the Venezuelan right wing has been complicit in this theft and has asked the United States that the offers be received in secret “so as not to affect them electorally”.

“They asked the gringos to wait until after the elections to sell CITGO, but the court has already accepted the offers. The company is being delivered at a ridiculous price because that company's assets amount to 21 billion dollars,” he said.

In this regard, he denounced that the “government of Narnia” led by Juan Guiadó stole huge amounts of money from CITGO and Monomeros to, now, “give life as kings abroad”.

In this sense, he described as “barbaric and stateless” these opposition groups who have shamelessly acted against the country.

“That money that came from that refinery was mainly used to provide health care for our boys and girls. Imagine for a moment, if they did that with the fantasy government they set up, what a tragedy would happen in Venezuela if those barbaric thieves came to take power in the country. If they make a fool of them, we run the risk of being left without a country,” Rodríguez reflected.

He also emphasized that the opposition has already offered the United States and its allies to hand them Guyana and Sequiba if they helped them to take power. “They already offered it to Exxon Mobil who wants to steal our oil and take it away for nothing,” he said, while assuring that after the revolutionary victory of July 28, the Venezuelan people will tell the gringos “if you want our oil, you pay what it costs.”
