The ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela accredited to the
Republic of Iraq, Arturo Aníbal Gallegos Ramírez, received journalists, intellectuals and members of political organizations at the diplomatic
headquarters, who
expressed their solidarity with the Venezuelan people and demanded the release of President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores, kidnapped by
the United States (USA).
The Head of Mission thanked the organizations and friends of the Bolivarian
nation present for their visit and invited them to pay tribute to the Venezuelan and Cuban
military personnel who offered their lives defending sovereignty and the national tricolor, fighting to safeguard the lives of the President
and his
wife in the face of the imperialist aggression of the United States government, on January 3.
The Ambassador explained, from the point of view of
public international law, the considerations expressed by the Permanent Mission of Venezuela
to the United Nations Security Council, which translate into the condemnation of actions that violate
the Charter of the United Nations by the United States government,
by kidnapping the first national president and the first lady.
The media present were Al Junub, TV Al Eshrak, Canal
Al Anwar, Al Qalam news agencies and the Council of Representatives of Iraq, as well as representatives of the press and members of the Baghdad Journalists Association.
In addition, representatives of
the Popular Mobilization Forces of Iraq, the Supreme Islamic Council, the
Center for Strategic Studies and academics participated.
At the Venezuelan Diplomatic Mission, a book was opened to receive
messages of condolence to the Bolivarian National Armed Forces and the Armed
Forces of the Republic of Cuba for the heroic sacrifice of the
men and women who shed their blood in defense of the sovereignty and self-determination of peoples.
