Julio León Heredia: This Sunday, the 11th, the municipal spokesperson for the Peasant Councils will be elected

The Minister of Productive Agriculture and Lands, Julio León Heredia, asserted that the Venezuelan peasant movement has already represented one of the most important historical moments in the nation, since they were the ones who accompanied El Libertador Simón Bolívar in the Feast of Independence, and today they confirm their support for the resident president Nicolás Maduro and the first fighter, Cilia Flores.

He asserted that at this time a constituent process is taking place in the field of social movements. “Following the guidelines of President Nicolás Maduro in 2025, the Ezequiel Zamora National Peasant Union was born, whose central elements are unity, integration and territorial organization,” he said during a telephone contact with Venezolana de Televisión.

He stressed that the second phase of the organization of the peasants and peasants of the Homeland is currently taking place, where this weekend the municipal spokesperson of the Peasant Councils will be elected in all the municipalities of the country.

“This Sunday, January 11, the election of the municipal spokespersons will take place, that is, 46,629 spokespersons for the peasant councils will be elected at the municipal level,” he explained.

He emphasized that they should be elected democratically, directly through secret voting in the country's 325 municipalities.

He explained that the process will continue until Sunday, January 18, when the national spokespersons will be elected.

León Heredia assured that in the face of the national situation, the peasants of the Homeland remain firm, organized and producing; they also support President Nicolás Maduro, and reject his vile kidnapping together with the first lady, Cilia Flores, by the United States.
