Julio Mayora sets a record and wins the Pan American Weight Championship in Colombia

Venezuelan Julio Mayora emerged as the continental leader when he won the title in the 79 kg Pan American Championship for Seniors in Cali, Colombia, breaking records in the envión and the Olympic total with 199 kg and 357 kg, respectively.

Mayora won silver at the start with 158 kg, surpassed by Colombian Hugo Montes (159 kg), while Taiyo Caiden from the USA placed third with 154 kg. In the next round, the Venezuelan secured first place (199 kg) and broke the regional record, accompanied by Caiden (190 kg) and Montes (third).

Arango has three silver medals in the 71 kg

Reinner Arango reached second place overall after recording 142 kg at the start and 172 kg at the start, adding an Olympic total of 314 kg. Colombian Sebastián Olivares dominated the category with 149 kg, 191 kg and 337 kg in total, while Mexico's Vicente Montoya completed the podium.

Rodríguez stands out in women's start

Genesis Rodriguez came in second at the start (99 kg), behind Yenny Sinisterra from Colombia (104 kg). In the challenge, Rodríguez lifted 122 kg, occupying the fourth place with a total of 221 kg.

Vallenilla and Rodríguez close the day with an 88 kg duel

According to what was published on the website of the Ministry of Popular Power for Sports, this Wednesday the activity continues with the presentation of Keydomar Vallenilla and Ángel Rodríguez, who compete in the 88 kg at 5:30 p.m., in a contest that represents the present and the projection of Venezuelan weightlifting.
