Karateca Yorgelis Salazar got her place at the 2025 World Games

The Venezuelan karate player, Yorgelis Salazar (-50 kg kumite), 27 years old, qualified for the 2025 World Games, which will be held in Chengdu, China, from August 7 to 17 of this year.
It should be noted that Salazar is number one in the world ranking of the discipline, according to the Ministry of Sports press.
The International Karate Federation (WKF) has released the list of 96 athletes qualified for the Chengdu sports event.
The international event represents for Salazar her second participation in world games, after winning the runner-up in Birmingham in 2022, where she was defeated 2-0 in the final against the Philippine, Junna Tsuki.
In that year, she became the first Venezuelan to rank first in the world ranking of the discipline, after winning gold medals in two of the four Premier League events and 1.
