The weightlifter Keydomar Vallenilla placed eighth in Weightlifting - 89kg and won an Olympic diploma, at the top event of the sport in Paris 2024.

Vallenilla managed to lift 162 kg at the start and 196 kg at the start, for a total of 358 kg, which allowed him to place in eighth place, the Venezuelan Olympic Committee reported on its social networks.

“It was a very strong competition, I had a lot of injuries that didn't allow me to be here 100%,” said Vallenilla, speaking to the media.

In that regard, he pledged to take more care of his body and to continue preparing to continue giving joy to Venezuela.

This is the second Olympic event for Vallenilla. In Tokyo 2020, he won the silver medal.

This is the sixth Olympic Diploma for Venezuela, in addition to that obtained by the fencing team , seventh place in the sword category; Rosa Rodríguez, eighth place in hammer throwing; Raiber Rodríguez, fifth place in Greco-Roman wrestling; Joselyn Brea, sixth in the 1,500 flat meters; Yohandri Granado, seventh in Taekwondo in the -58 kg category and Anyelin Venegas fourth in Weightlifting -59 kg
