Regional and national authorities led an event in the historic center of the state of La Guaira where the transfer of financial resources to 20 communes of the Vargas municipality was formalized, as part of the projects prioritized in the National Popular Consultation of November 2025.

The activity was attended by Mayor José Manuel Suárez, Governor José Alejandro Terán and the Minister of Popular Power for the Communes, Ángel Prado.

During his speech, Mayor José Manuel Suárez emphasized that the allocation of resources reaffirms the support of the national Government for organized Popular Power. He specified that the funds will make it possible to implement projects related to public services, wastewater and white water recovery, rehabilitation of sports fields, socio-productive initiatives, housing improvement and provision of construction materials. He also highlighted that part of the resources will be allocated to the repair and reconstruction of schools, as well as to the rehabilitation of outpatient clinics and health centers in the state.

“The revolutionary Government is still on the streets, supporting Popular Power and complying with the decisions taken by communities in national consultation,” Suárez said, in addition to ratifying the commitment of the mayor's office and the government to strengthening the Communes and the direct execution of community projects.

For his part, Minister Ángel Prado reported that the Communes are held in permanent meetings and expressed their support for the president in charge, Delcy Rodríguez. He also noted that the date of the next Popular Consultation will soon be announced, which, he indicated, will be organized and led by women in the communities.

The minister stressed that this new consultation process will focus on the communal debate on the country's priority transformations and will culminate with an election day. “With this consultation, we are going to demonstrate that Venezuela is not giving up, that participatory and leading democracy is still in force and that Chavism continues to consolidate communal power on the streets,” he said.

The day concluded with the call of the authorities to deepen communal organization, to advance the goal of consolidating more than six thousand communes at the national level and to guarantee the effective execution of the projects approved by the People's Power.
