With the support of the Municipal Fund for the Support of Popular Power (FOMAPP), an organization attached to the Mayor's Office of the Bolivarian Libertador municipality of Caracas, the José Gregorio Hernández Commune presents “La Ruta de Goyito”, a community tourism initiative that celebrates the rich history, heritage and culture of the emblematic parish of La Pastora.
This pioneering project offers a guided tour that intertwines the history of a community that is more than 400 years old, iconic figures such as San José Gregorio Hernández (“Goyito”), street art, deep-rooted popular traditions and the thriving local economy.
“La Ruta de Goyito” seeks to highlight the historical legacy of La Pastora, from its colonial architecture to its legends and characters, with the leading participation of its inhabitants.
The main objective of the initiative is to promote tourism in La Pastora, attracting national and international visitors interested in discovering the authenticity and charm of this historic corner of Caracas.
By revitalizing the communal economy and strengthening collective identity, “La Ruta de Goyito” aspires to become a model of self-management that positions La Pastora as a cultural and tourist reference within the capital of Venezuela.
After successful pilot experiences, the tours for the general public of “La Ruta de Goyito” will take place on Saturdays, starting on May 3rd. The dynamic will continue every 15 days, that is, on May 17 and 31 and so on, from 3:30 to 7:30pm.
In the short term, cultural activities will be held with personalities and influencers to publicize this unique experience that invites an encounter with the history, culture and heritage of La Pastora, thus boosting its tourist potential.
