La Vega sings to the revolutionary conscience this Saturday, May 17

The second edition of A Song to Conscience in La Vega will take place this Saturday, May 17, in the Rafael Angulo Park of that parish, with the presentation of a good number of female singers and singers, including Los Guaraguao, Ali Alejandro Primera and Gino González, who will come especially from the Venezuelan plains.

This was reported by José “Chachata” Guerra, musician of the historic group Los Guaraguao, and journalist Jimmy López Morillo, popular leader of that combative sector that Ali Primera called “the melting pot of popular struggles”. Its members expressed that the purpose of the activity is “to continue raising the consciousness of our people through singing, in the face of all the aggressions of US imperialism and those who support them in their attempts to destroy this process of transformation that our country is experiencing.”

The event, which will start at three in the afternoon, will also include the participation of José Garcés, Oswaldo Musset, the female duo Repeated Dreams, Jesús Rodríguez with La Vega Arte y Tradición, the Experimental Group La Vega, Raíces Parranderas and Familia Negra , among others.

“It is important to note that we are promoting this series of concerts in different sectors of Caracas and we may begin to extend them to other parts of the country, with the Movement A Song to Conscience as the main promoter, although always counting on the participation of the different popular organizations from each of those sectors,” said José Guerra and Edgar García.

They added that “not only is it a matter of holding an event so that people go to listen to those who are presenting themselves and then go home in peace, but they also serve as an engine for popular organization, to strengthen community councils, communes and for attendees to understand that we cannot fall into the traps of the enemies of our country, who precisely intend to numb our conscience to become easily manipulated subjects based on their interests. That is the great objective of this song”, they concluded.
