Lara was crowned in the 9th Women's Youth Baseball Championship by beating Anzoátegui 3-2.

The tournament that took place from April 29 to May 5 at the Venezuela and El Guamazo stadiums in Barcelona, Anzoátegui, according to the press release of the Ministry of Popular Power for Sports.

In the final. Lara turned the score around against the hosts, who made six key mistakes that defined the result.

The victory went to Gabriela Jiménez, who threw 6.2 innings allowing six hits and two clean runs, with nine strikeouts and two walks.

Jiménez also contributed offensively with two hits in two rounds, received for tickets and also stepped on the plate twice.

For his part, in the fight for third place, Aragua won the bronze medal by beating Carabobo 6-4.

Alejandra Morales led the Aragüeño victory with 6.1 innings of work, in which she accepted with only two hits, two runs and struck out ten rivals and María Roldán sealed the game with her rescue.

On offense, Norianny Pérez stood out 3-1, drove in two scores, and Roldán also hit 3-1, scored two and drove in a line.

This tournament served as a preamble to form the national team that will compete in the upcoming World Cup.

The Women's Baseball World Cup will be played in two phases. From July 22 to 26, United States, Canada, Mexico, Hong Kong. Australia and South Korea will face off in Rockford, Illinois.

A month later, from August 23 to 27, Venezuela will face Japan, China, Taipei, Cuba, Great Britain and the Philippines on the Taiwanese island of Tainan.

The top three finishers in each bracket will compete in the grand final of the World Cup to be held from July 19 to 25, 2027 in the same American city of Rockford, Illinois.
