Las Tejerias de Aragua Municipality regains its original name

The Municipal Council of Santos Michelena in the state of Aragua approved Agreement 014-2026 to officially restore the name of Las Tejerías municipality to the territory.

The approval had the unanimous support of the councilors, including the opposition faction, since it seeks to align the legal name with the historical and cultural identity of the area, keeping the city of Las Tejerías as its capital and preserving the Tiara parish under its jurisdiction, details a press release.

The act makes history by converting popular clamor into law and initiates the process of reforming the Political-Territorial Division Act before the Bolivarian Legislative Council of the state of Aragua (CLEBA), in compliance with current legal frameworks.
