This Tuesday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, reported that Moscow will collaborate with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in relation to the recent Ukrainian attacks against the Zaporozhie plant, located in Energodar, and stressed that Kiev will not be able to “evade its responsibility this time”.
The foreign minister indicated that the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as the country's representatives in the IAEA and the Security Council of the United Nations (UN) have submitted the corresponding statements.
“We will take this issue to a special meeting of the IAEA executive committee, to a special meeting of the Security Council, and there we will insist on the need to receive direct, unevasive assessments of the actions of the Ukrainian regime,” Lavrov said.
Lavrov added that Russia will seek “honest recognition” from the IAEA and the UN General Secretariat “of what is happening, not only around the Zaporozhie nuclear power plant, but also around Ukraine in general.”
