Leaders of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum adopted a joint statement this Saturday to deepen cooperation and a sustainable future.

The Gyeongju Declaration encompasses a global trading system that faces significant challenges with the rapid advance of transformative technologies and demographic changes bring with them profound and long-term implications for the economies that make up APEC.

At the meetings held in South Korea, an agreement was agreed on reinforced cooperation and concrete actions to facilitate economic growth that benefits all.

The leaders also adopted two additional documents: APEC Initiative on Artificial Intelligence and the APEC Collaboration Framework for Demographic Changes.

Established in 1989, APEC defends free and open trade and investment to promote regional economic integration.
