This Monday, the Government of Lebanon confirmed the extension of the ceasefire agreement with Israel until February 18, due to the violation of the terms by the Jewish country

The decision was announced the same day that Israel, in clear violation of the terms of the agreement, opened fire on Lebanese returning to the south of the country and killed at least 22 civilians.

The ceasefire agreement stipulated that Israeli forces must withdraw from southern Lebanon after the withdrawal of weapons and fighters from Hezbollah, being replaced by the Lebanese Army over a period of 60 days, which ended on January 26.

On January 24, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said they intended to keep their troops in the south of the region beyond the date stipulated in the agreement, on the pretext that Lebanon did not comply with the terms of the agreement, for which they present no evidence.
