The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported this Thursday that the death toll in the country has risen to 2,196 people and the injured to 7,185 since the start of the offensive on March 2.

In the last 24 hours alone, health authorities recorded 29 deaths and 124 injuries, consolidating a trend of violence that gives no rest to the civilian population in various regions of the Lebanese territory.

The entity's official report highlights the disproportionate impact of the conflict on the most vulnerable sectors. Of the cumulative total number of fatalities, 172 children and 260 women have been identified, while the list of injured includes 661 minors and 1,167 women.

These figures reflect the seriousness of the humanitarian crisis facing the nation in the face of the systematic increase in air incursions.

Despite the death toll, the Israeli army is carrying out an intense bombing campaign for the ninth consecutive day. This escalation of war persists even after the announcement of a two-week truce made on April 8 through the mediation of the United States (USA) and the Islamic Republic of Iran, which has generated deep concern in the international community over the non-compliance with de-escalation efforts.
