The Legislative Council of the Bolivarian State of Guayana Esequiba elected and installed its new board of directors for the 2026 term.

The event was attended by Governor Neil Villamizar and after the legislators' vote, the structure of the regional parliament was formed as follows: president, Arsenio González; vice president, José Castellano; secretary, Josmar Jellerett, undersecretary, José Rodríguez.

In addition, Julio Cova, Luis Miranda, Joanna Barbosa, Marlene Vargas and Honorio Requena, who will assume the direction of the various working committees, confirmed the commitment of legislators to boost regional management.

The newly elected president of the Legislative Council, Arsenio González, stressed that the formal installation marks the beginning of a legislative agenda focused on the social needs of the population.

“We are going to work without distinction, prioritizing laws that favor the people in terms of health and basic services. Our work will go hand in hand with Neil Villamizar, governor of the state of Guayana Esequiba, to efficiently meet the needs of our territory,” said González, reported VTV.

The legislator emphasized that the year 2026 will be key to strengthening development regulations and approving resources for projects promoted by organized communities.
