The Leones del Escogido team from the Dominican Republic won the cup in the 67th edition of the Caribbean Series, beating Charros de Jalisco from Mexico by the minimum (1-0).

Those led by Albert Pujols had a path of ups and downs. In the Final Series, the two-time champion was the rival and clear favorite to lift the monarch trophy again. But, in seven engagements and an ending that had emotions everywhere, Chosen took the scepter.

The local team was barely unstoppable, which meant the fifth win of the Caribbean Series for Lions of the Chosen and the 23rd for the Dominican Republic.
