The San Diego Padres placed Luis Arráez on the 7-day
injury list with concussion after a collision with Houston Astros second
baseman Mauricio Dubón.
Arráez lay on the field for 11 minutes, before being
taken out of the park on a stretcher during the first inning.
The Venezuelan was treated at Houston Methodist Hospital and returned to the stadium after
the game.
“Overall, it's very favorable (their situation) compared to how
scary it looked,” manager Mike Shildt reported, according to the Major League Baseball (MLB)
website.
The infielder Mason McCoy was promoted from El Paso (Triple A),
to take the place on the Venezuelan's active roster.
