Luis García climbed to the top of the podium in the Junior and Youth World Weightlifting Championships

The weightlifter Luis García won the gold medal in the 67-kilogram division at the World Junior and Youth Weightlifting Championships, which is being held in Lima, Peru.

The Venezuelan finished fourth in the starting position with 116 kg, but in envión he reached 153 kg, to reach a total of 269 kg and climb to the top of the podium.

Garcia was accompanied on the podium by the Moldovan participant, Dan Dorin Betca who lifted a total of 268 kg and by the Saudi Ali Hussin Alhawar with 264 kg.

This is the second medal for Venezuela in the world championship, after the one won by Valeria Osorio in the 45 kg junior category.
