Lula and Lavrov are in Brasilia after meeting of G20 foreign ministers

The President of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, met this Thursday in Brasilia with the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, after his participation in the meeting of foreign ministers of the Group of 20 (G20).

The meeting between the Brazilian president and the Russian Foreign Minister was held behind closed doors, to review the cooperation agreements between the two nations.

The meeting of foreign ministers of the G20, which took place in Rio de Janeiro, brought together on February 21 and 22 the foreign ministers of the 20 richest countries in the world, as well as invited countries and international organizations, for a total of 45 delegations attended.

Before arriving in Brazil, Lavrov undertook a tour of Latin America with visits to Cuba and Venezuela, where he met with his counterparts and with presidents Miguel Díaz-Canel and Nicolás Maduro, respectively.

The G20 is made up of Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Canada, China, South Korea, France, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Russia, the United Kingdom, South Africa and Turkey, plus the European Union as a block.
