The Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP) defined the conditions that will govern the 2026-2027 season.

The Board of Directors, headed by Giuseppe Palmisano, and representatives of the eight clubs, participated in the Annual Convention on Margarita Island between September 4 and 6.

Next season will officially bear the name of the 2026 World Baseball Classic Champions. The approved schedule also includes a meeting every Monday, whose television broadcast will be under the responsibility of the LVBP.

The regular round will end on December 27. Subsequently, the Wild Card Series will be played on December 29 and, if a second match is necessary, it will take place on the 30th.

For its part, the Round Robin will start on January 2, 2027, as part of the path towards the definition of the Venezuelan ball champion.

An international destination was also established. The LVBP champion will represent Venezuela in the Hermosillo 2027 Caribbean Series, while the runner-up will attend the 2027 Series of the Americas, scheduled in Caracas.

The increase from six to eight imported players per team was confirmed, Radio Miraflores reports.

For the Round Robin Semifinal Reinforcements Draft, one (1) addition and three (3) substitutions were approved. For the Final Series, only one (1) addition will be allowed.

It was agreed to strengthen the Anti-Doping Program by creating a Disciplinary Board or Tribunal independent of the board of directors of the LVBP, which will be responsible for issuing the corresponding decisions.

In addition, an educational component will be implemented to train club staff in the prevention and management of situations that compromise the integrity of the championship.

The eight teams and the LVBP agreed to express their solidarity and respect for the victims and people affected by the double earthquake that occurred in June.

As part of this tribute, every June 24, a minute of silence will be observed in all stadiums.

The clubs will then report any other activities they decide to carry out in memory of those affected.
