The Ministry of Popular Power for Health (MPPS) inaugurated the exhibition Armando Reverón: A Tropical View in room 8 of the Armando Reverón Contemporary Art Museum in Caracas (MACCAR), located in Parque Central, and which brings together a selection of 43 canvases that cover the pictorial work of the master, forerunner of poor art and a fundamental figure of Venezuelan modernity.

During the activity, the head of the ministerial office, Raúl Cazal, linked the figure of the painter to national identity, the capacity to create in the face of adversity and the validity of his legacy as a symbol of cultural sovereignty.

Reverón had that capacity to understand that you could make art and beauty with what he had in his hands; that is a form of resistance and of understanding life,” Cazal stressed.

For her part, the Deputy Minister of Image and Space Arts, Mary Pemjean, recalled that every May 10 Venezuela celebrates this date in honor of the birth of the “Painter of Light”, so she recalled the artist's journey from the academy to his isolation in El Castillete de Macuto, where he founded his own visual language that today is a world reference.

In addition, the young researcher of the exhibition, Diego Labrador, pointed out that Armando Reverón transcends legends about his life to consolidate himself as a creator of profound concerns about light and color.
