The Vice President
for Religious Affairs of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Nicolás
Maduro Guerra, called on the People this Tuesday to turn national indignation
over the kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores
into an active popular organization.
During a major
mobilization of the transport sector in Caracas, Maduro Guerra said that his
father, the Head of State, and his wife are standing firm. “Yesterday we had a
message from him and her, they tell us that they are firm and strong, that they are
clear about the fighting role they have to play,” he stressed.
He stated that the presidential
couple has “peace of mind and faith placed in God
and in the People of Venezuela”, and that they trust the president in charge Delcy Rodríguez
and the team that is leading the Bolivarian Government at this juncture.
Maduro Guerra
reaffirmed that “the great national indignation that exists over the military attack must
be transformed into an active popular organization (...) Our resistance has
been active and that is the secret of all Venezuelans. We have
to make the country move economically to generate income, politically
with more democracy, socially, closing the inequality gap.”
