Magnitude 6.3 earthquake shakes El Salvador

This Sunday, a strong earthquake of magnitude was reported that shook El Salvador, as confirmed by President Nayib Bukele in his X account.

The president explained that the epicenter of the earthquake is on the coast of La Paz, in the Pacific, 70 kilometers from the country's capital and at a depth of 33 kilometers. However, the Salvadoran Ministry of Environment ruled out the threat of a tsunami.

The entity recorded six other subsequent earthquakes, all on the same coast. “In the face of seismicity off our coast, it is crucial to remain calm, take precautions and be informed,” he says on social networks.

On the other hand, the Deputy Ministry of Transportation of El Salvador reported that there have been no damages to the road network of the Metropolitan Area of San Salvador after the earthquake, according to the first revision of the video surveillance system, while the Civil Protection Directorate activated the Emergency Operations Center, but so far it has not reported any damage.
