Margarita Island received more than 600 flights during Easter

Samir Al Attrach, representative of the Margarita Exclusive Economic Zone, reported that air activity on the island registered a significant increase during the Easter period with more than 600 operations at Santiago Mariño airport.

In this regard, he indicated that of the domestic flights, travelers arrived from Russia, Poland and Türkiye, the latter country with a connection via Turkish Airlines from Maiquetia International Airport, La Guaira state.

Al Attrach highlighted that this flow of visitors reinforces the region's position within the Caribbean as a destination of interest for international passengers.

During his participation in the 3rd Venezuela-Türkiye Binational Tourism Exchange, held at the Caracas Polyhedron, he stressed that in addition to flights, more than 9,000 passengers were mobilized through the ferry service, contributing to the dynamism of the tourism sector.

The increase in visitors impacted hotel occupancy, which exceeded forecasts for the season. Al Attrach noted that tourism activity is a key factor in economic development and highlighted the alliance with Türkiye for the implementation of projects aimed at strengthening the sector, according to a press release from Venezolana de Televisión (VTV).

He also emphasized the similarities between the two countries in terms of tourism promotion and stated that the Margarita Exclusive Economic Zone is constantly working on initiatives to attract investments aimed at the growth of tourism.
