Margot Benacerraf's cinematographic works to be restored in 4K

The films Araya and Reverón, by Venezuelan filmmaker Margot Benacerraf, will undergo a restoration process in 4K resolution, said the president of the Margot Benacerraf Foundation, Alexandra Cariani.

According to information from Venezolana de Televisión, the announcement was made during the closing of the seminar dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the filmmaker's birth, organized by the National Cinemateca in Caracas.

Cariani also specified that the original negatives of both works remain protected in the French Cinematheque.

During the discussion on Treasures of the Margot Archive, the representative of the foundation also presented part of Benacerraf's personal archive, which preserves technical scripts, photographs and film projects that were never filmed, some of which are more than 75 years old.

The research and preservation of this legacy involves the participation of international specialists and Yale University, who are working on future publications on the filmmaker 's career.
