Marinos from Anzoátegui and Brillantes from Zulia assured their presence in the SPB postseason

This Sunday closed the ninth week of the Professional Basketball Super League (SPB), with the victory of Marinos de Anzoátegui, Piratas de La Guaira and Brillantes del Zulia.

After defeating Guaiqueri de Margarita 58-70, Marinos secured his ticket to the postseason, SPB press reports.

Gregory Vargas led the battleship with 17 points (5 of 6 three-pointers), 4 assists, 3 steals and 2 rebounds, followed by Kevin McDaniels with 16 points, 11 rebounds and one assist.

Juan Guerrero was the best player for Guaiquerís with 16 points, 17 rebounds and 2 blocks.

At the José María Vargas Domo, Piratas de La Guaira defeated Panthers de Miranda 79-69, to keep alive their aspirations to play in the postseason.

John Hugley led the win with 15 points, 12 rebounds and 3 assists, followed by Humberto Bompart with 11 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals.

For Panthers, Luis Carrillo had 10 points, 15 rebounds, 3 blocks, 2 assists and one steal.

Meanwhile, in the M/G Elio Estrada Paredes, Brillantes del Zulia dominated Pioneros del Ávila 75-77.

Elias King was the best after contributing 25 points (5 of 9 in three-pointers), 9 rebounds, 2 blocks and one steal. Myke Henry accompanied him with 19 points, 7 rebounds and one steal.

For Pioneers, Eddie Jarrel stood out with 20 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, a steal and a block.

Despite the defeat, Pioneros secured their direct pass to the playoffs as Brillantes could only match him in the standings, but the Avileños won the series.

Brillantes, on the other hand, guaranteed to play the Play In and the last place in the playoffs at home.
