Mayor Carmen Meléndez: Caracas closed the “Carnivals in Peace 2026" with resounding success

The mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, highlighted the work and commitment of the Bolivarian Government through all the security deployment registered during the Carnival holiday for the protection and protection of the Venezuelan people.

“We closed Carnival 2026 in Caracas, in Hugo Chávez Park, with the joy of so many families who enjoyed these spaces and the activities that took place in them,” he said during the closing day in this space in La Rinconada, broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión.

He specified that in Caracas, “we have been totally successful in what has been done all these days in the different centralities and communes, since the deployment of security, with 7,200 officials and officials from the different Public Security Agencies and volunteering, and with the Reir Plan, which was activated in all communities.”

“It has been a carnival agenda based mainly on ensuring the safety of the people, who have demonstrated great trust in the work teams, to whom I recognize all their efforts and discipline,” he said on his Instagram account.

Meléndez also mentioned the experience with community carnivals “has been in peace, in the 299 communes and communal councils, in the more than 2,000 communities, with activities every day, together with organized Popular Power.”

He pointed out that the cultural agenda was totally diverse, with traditional games, sports, with singing and poetry, with stability and peace, as guided by the president in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez.

“They were carnivals for the whole family, with Super Mustache and Super Cilita as characters present at all the celebrations, receiving all the love of the people,” he said.

The mayor added that “people from other states visited our capital city and also enjoyed these Carnivals, which were also characterized by swimming pools, hiking and travel to states such as La Guaira.”

For his part, the head of government of the Capital District, Nahum Fernández, stated that the carnestolendas agenda was based on ensuring the safety of the people and the sharing of Caracas families. “Joy invaded every corner of Caracas, consolidating itself as a resounding success,” he said.
