Mayor Giancarlo Di Martino presented the week's schedule to celebrate the 497th Anniversary of Maracaibo, from Tuesday, September 8th to Sunday, September 13th, “we honor our city by delivering concrete solutions for all families,” he said.

On his account on the social network Instagram, he announced that “in addition to our varied cultural, sports and religious agenda, we will be delivering works of great social impact: the comprehensive rehabilitation of our squares, the recovery and opening of clinics for the health of the community, and the asphalting of fully recovered avenues.

“Each of these works responds to our unwavering commitment to continue to guarantee the quality of life, well-being and development that our citizens deserve. Let's continue to enjoy and build together the city we want!” , he said.

At a press conference, he reported that during the week of September 8 to 13 there will be sports shots on different courts in the city and the exhibitions “This is Maracaibo” at the Luis Chacón Graphic Arts Museum and the Craft Expo at the Gran Bazar Shopping Center.

On Saturday 12th there will be a parade in Ana María Campos Park, the opening of the headquarters of the Venezuelan Federation of Creative Robotics and the final of the contest The Best Tumbarranch in Maracaibo.

On Sunday the 13th, the Gatorade 10k Race will take place first thing in the morning and in the afternoon the week of Maracaibo closes with the symphonic concert “Así Sounds Maracaibo ” in the acoustic shell of the Plaza de la República.

Di Martino reported that soon the activities of the La Chinita Fair will be announced, which is turning 60 this year. He announced that this year the Christmas lights will be turned on and the fair will dawn.

He commented that numerous national and international artists have confirmed their performances in Maracaibo between September and December 2026.
