Mayor Meléndez highlighted progress in the rehabilitation of traffic lights in Caracas

The mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, said that the city keeps its basic services operational and that technical teams continue to be permanently deployed in the streets and avenues, in addition to pointing out that maintenance work has not stopped during the contingency.

Meléndez indicated that, through INTRAVIALCA, part of the traffic light system on Nueva Granada Avenue was rehabilitated, as well as the dismantling of a deteriorated flag arm to install a new structure with two clamps and the anchors of the main pole, which guarantees firmness and visibility at the intersection.

“Caracas doesn't stop and its basic services are guaranteed, our city is reborn with technical teams deployed 24 hours a day,” he said.

The mayor stressed that, with this intervention, the municipality has more than 150 traffic lights repaired so far this year in different parishes, in addition to reiterating that the plan for the modernization of urban infrastructure is progressing in every sector of the capital.

Meléndez said that the crews are still on the ground with maintenance and adaptation work at prioritized points, and recalled that during the contingency, national and international rescue teams have saved 6,462 people, a figure that reflects the scope of the operational deployment.
