Mayor Meléndez: October 26 will be celebrated as the day of San José Gregorio Hernández

The mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, indicated that October 26 will be celebrated as the day of San José Gregorio Hernández, to commemorate the birth of the distinguished Venezuelan doctor.

From the Church of the Divine Shepherdess located in the capital, where he explained that this decision was taken by the Holy See.

“Throughout Venezuela, this mass of thanksgiving and the birthday of our saint José Gregorio Hernández is being celebrated today, and the Vatican decided to celebrate the day of Saint Joseph Gregorio Hernández every October 26,” said the Mayor.

On the other hand, he mentioned a series of projects being carried out in the parish of La Pastora, specifically the recovery of houses, facades, in addition to the upcoming inauguration of a house of culture.

“Across the entire point and circle of the shepherdess, more than 500 houses had their facades restored. La Pastora is seen as the original town of so many years and historic,” he said.

In this regard, the Mayor thanked the workers who participated in the execution of the works.
