The mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, reported that the Urigain building, located in the Altagracia parish, was affected after the earthquakes recorded on Wednesday, June 24, which is why she accompanied the community during the technical evaluation carried out by the Ministry for Housing and Habitat.
“There are 108 families that reside in this infrastructure, and habitability has been evaluated following instructions from our president in charge Delcy Rodríguez, who has highlighted the priority of preserving life in these difficult circumstances,” said the mayor in her message posted on Instagram.
Meléndez indicated that the Ministry of housing or habitat is continuing inspections to determine temporary protection and transfer actions, according to the technical criteria for necessary repairs, blockages and renovations.
In Caracas, he explained, different temporary camps are still active and new spaces are being set up to guarantee comprehensive protection to people who require it.
