Mayor Meléndez: The second National Popular Consultation 2025 has been a joyful and peaceful process

The mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, participated in the second National Popular Consultation 2025, at the Ecological School, in Fuerte Tiuna, El Valle parish, “we landed a few minutes ago and I went straight to my voting center.”

“It has been a joyful and peaceful process, the second day of the National Popular Consultation for this year 2025,” he said.

On his account on the social network Instagram, he commented that he arrived in time to vote, “on this great day of the second National Popular Consultation, which has been a new example of participatory and leading democracy, and in which the people express themselves freely in each of their territories”.

“Caracas activated very early and still late at night. Commune or nothing. We will win,” he said.

Meléndez explained that he exercised his right to vote late at night, since he had just returned from Rome, Italy.

“After participating in the funeral honors to Pope Francis, on instructions from our President Nicolás Maduro, I arrived at my voting center and chose the option that I consider most important for the community,” he said.

In another message, he specified that in Caracas, “there are more than 200 projects that are chosen this Sunday #27Abr. What a great day our country has experienced”.

He stressed that it is “a quick and simple process that will allow us to continue transforming all territories through communal self-government, as ordered by our President Nicolás Maduro.”

“Congratulations to the People for their citizenship, as well as to the institutions that have promoted the excellent development of this Sunday's #27Abr process,” he said.
