The mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, announced the activation of the Comprehensive Development Plan in the Caracas-La Guaira Road Corridor, which is made up of 15 communes in the capital and 3 in the coastal entity.
As reported by the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN), Meléndez highlighted that the implementation of this plan aims to strengthen the economic and social articulation of the communities located along the road corridor, for the benefit of their inhabitants.
“We are in permanent deployment, as part of the Comprehensive Development Plan of the Caribbean Peoples Corridor, on the Caracas-La Guaira highway. We will comply with our Head of State in the shortest possible time,” said Meléndez.
In this regard, he stressed that the territory, considered the country's gateway, will be transformed according to the scheme of the 7 Transformations (7T), to ensure its self-sustainability.
For his part, the head of the Government of Caracas, Nahum Fernández, stressed that this corridor will become a pilot plan and showcase for a new form of governance, based on popular consultation and the construction of productive, ecological and economic programs.
“Here, a new form of government, participatory and leading, is born, which complements the national, state, municipal and popular levels. The president (Nicolás Maduro) is putting his trust in all of us to demonstrate that it is possible to govern under blockade and sanctions,” Fernández said.
He added that benefit and collection centers are planned to be installed, together with service works to accompany the comprehensive development of the corridor.
With this activation, Fernández explained, the Government reaffirms its commitment to moving towards a sustainable management model, with the leadership of popular power and the support of national and local authorities.
