The mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, took an inspection tour of Los Próceres Avenue in San Bernardino to monitor progress in the comprehensive rehabilitation of the Heart of Jesus Building.

According to information published on the mayor's Instagram account, during the tour, she was accompanied by the president of the Venezuela Renace Plan, Jacqueline Faria, who confirmed the progress of general painting and aesthetic adaptation of the exterior façade, deep removal of walls and structural repairs and waterproofing.

Meléndez explained that during the tour he held a meeting with the neighbors, “and despite the deep mark left by the contingency, since very close to there, on the same avenue, it was unfortunately where the Rita Building collapsed, and seeing the strength and willingness of the community commits us to continue working tirelessly.”

Finally, he ratified the State's commitment to provide a response “with facts so that each family can inhabit their space in decent and safe conditions as soon as possible.”
