In the municipality of Campo Elías, in the state of Mérida, there were heavy rains that caused rivers and streams to flood, as a result of which the various organisms were deployed in the affected areas, including Montalbán, said the mayor of the aforementioned municipality, Jesús Rodríguez.

He specified that the houses in El Salado are also being inspected to assess the damage. “We inform all the inhabitants of Campo Elías, that we have deployed with security and risk prevention agencies to evaluate each of the effects of the #Montalbán river and surrounding streams,” he said.

In this regard, he pointed out that there has only been “some situation with an inhabitant where, until now, we have no thanks to God, no affections”.

He assured that he has already notified the situation “to the Bolivarian Government to act on this bridge where we are; there are more than 800 cubic meters of rock material that we have to mobilize and more than a thousand from the bridge upwards.”

“From the Kleber Ramírez Rojas Commune we call for calm, teams from the @ Alcaldiacampoelias will deploy early this Friday, April 24 to clean the road that connects the cities of Mérida, Ejido with the town of Jají and La Azulita,” he said.

The mayor explained that vehicle traffic should be done with caution on roads close to flowing roads and that citizens should be attentive to calls from security agencies.
