Meléndez: First families from La Guaira were transferred to the El Ávila temporary camp

Mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, reported that this Thursday, the first 24 families that were affected by the double earthquake in the state of La Guaira, were received in the El Ávila temporary camp, located in the San Bernardino parish.

Meléndez explained that there are 78 adults and 14 boys and girls, who already have comprehensive care in the areas authorized for their protection.

The mayor explained that the space has bedrooms, kitchen, medical center and recreation areas, as well as basic services to ensure adequate conditions while maintaining technical evaluations and institutional support.

Meléndez pointed out that the deployment is carried out following the guidelines of the president in charge Delcy Rodríguez, with an emphasis on the protection of Guaireña families who have experienced complex moments after the earthquake emergency.
“All solidarity with the Guaireño people,” he said in his message.
