In compliance with preventive and corrective maintenance plans designed to increase service quality, the C.A. Metro Los Teques successfully completed a day of replacing rails in the Corral de Piedra tunnel, located on the stretch between Ayacucho and Las Adjuntas stations.
A multidisciplinary team made up of 26 specialists carried out the replacement of 34 meters of bearing bars that had completed their useful life cycle, the company reported through its account on the social network Instagram.
The president of the means of transport, Paola Artahona, who specified that these actions are part of the comprehensive maintenance and modernization plan, reports the Government of Miranda in a press release.
A team of 26 specialists cut, removed and installed new rods, using aluminothermic welding techniques to ensure greater stability and safety on the road.
To ensure the integrity and continuity of the track, advanced aluminothermic welding techniques were used, ensuring a smoother movement of Metropolis trains.
Simultaneously, a comprehensive technical inspection of electrical joints and connections was developed. These maneuvers made it possible to verify the optimal functioning of the systems that power both the traction and the signalling of the trains, vital components for operational safety.
The day also included deep cleaning in the most critical areas of the system. This action seeks to optimize the railway environment and prevent possible failures resulting from the accumulation of sediment or external agents on the track.
Despite the complexity of the maneuvers, which lasted seven hours a day, the system remained fully operational at all its stations.
To achieve this, controlled mobility restrictions were applied to the intervened section, minimizing the impact on the movement of users.
